Responsible Solutions
FROM LINEAR TO CIRCULAR
Modern challenges demand innovative approaches. It’s time to take action and start valuing waste as resource so we can elevate our society’s mindset from a linear to a circular perspective.
Our responsible solutions combine creativity with practicality, transforming your sustainable ambitions into actionable steps with achievable results
Resource management
Data-Data-Data: Numbers Tell the Tale
We conduct monitoring based research for detailed insights into:
- The exact content and contamination of different waste flows.
- The way people interact with the bins provided and what specifically lacks in their sorting behavior
With this data we can improve signing, communication and the waste
sorting systems at your event to secure a higher recyclability rate of specific
waste flows.
Let’s create the food court of the future!
The black gold
The 3 R's: Reuse - reuse - reuse
No more single-use disposables & food containers. Instead, we offer high quality reusable tableware. Step up your food court game and serve your event food on REUSABLES, drastically reducing your waste flow and upgrading the eating experience of your visitors. Together with our partner Ozarka, we will take care of:
- Item-selection with the caterers.
- Logistics during the festival for delivery, distribution and collection of the tableware.
- Washing the tableware (on-site or off-site).
- Feedback with insights on environmental impact and
efficiency of item circulation.
Nobody wants to see your dirty butt!
Leave nothing but Party Tents: Sandcastles
- Bin bag activation and visitor motivation to leave the place clean.
- Getting visitors to jump along and sort out their own trash in our recycle hub.
- Zooming-in on a specific types of waste that need extra attention.
- Recovering good quality tents, sleeping bags, and mattresses for people in need.
- Supplying recycle points for cans and bottles.
This is where the party's at!
We operate recycling hubs that serve as multifunctional collection points for various materials. Whether managing challenging waste streams to create a monoflow of recyclable materials or recovering deposit items like bottles, cans, and hard cups that might otherwise be incinerated, SEAVENTS’ Green Team tackles the task with enthusiasm and a smile. We keep our processes visible, showing visitors firsthand how we transform waste into something fun and engaging!

Create the food court of the future
Festival food courts significantly impact the environment, but we’re here to help you minimize that impact.
We offer comprehensive solutions, including menu analysis, material use policies, backstage sorting systems, and engaging caterers to create a unified stream of compostable waste. Our on-site composting
machine transforms this waste into valuable compost.
We also set up front-stage demonstrations to inspire visitors to view waste as a resource, turning sustainability into a shared experience.

The black gold
We rent our composting machine to events, and provide guidance, visitor education and more.
The composting machine will transform biodegradable waste into compost within 24hrs.
There is no reason why society is still using single use plastics for food & beverages. The alternatives
are available, and we can turn them into soil.

Nobody wants to see your dirty butt!
Our Green Team will warmly welcome festivalgoers at the entrance, offering STUB Reusable Pocket Ashtrays to smoking visitors.
With a positive approach, we raise awareness about the environmental impact of cigarette waste and inspire visitors to adopt sustainable habits, even after the festival.
Discarded cigarette butts are the most widespread man-made plastic pollutant —posing risks to both humans and the environment.
STUB Pocket Ashtrays are thoughtfully assembled in a *sociale werkplaats*, which supports reintegration opportunities for people distanced from the job market. The neck is partially made from R-PET and
is 100% recyclable, while the lid is crafted from 100% recyclable PP.

Leave nothing but Party Tents: Sandcastles
Camping trash is still a big thorn in the side of every multi-day festival. We will help you create a strategy to tackle the amount of camping waste by:
- Bin bag activation and visitor motivation to leave the place clean.
- Getting visitors to jump along and sort out their own trash in our recycle hub.
- Zooming-in on a specific types of waste that need extra attention.
- Recovering good quality tents, sleeping bags, and mattresses for peoplein need.

Seavents was founded by 3 passionate surfers and environmentalists. Our desire to explore new surf spots led us to the most beautiful beaches all over the world where time on time we got confronted with the same thing: (PLASTIC) POLLUTION. The drive that sparked our business lies within our love for the ocean (our playground) and the ambition to keep her clean and healthy.
(2016-2018)
During their time in Australia, Simon and Jeroen were living on the Gold Coast where they got involved with Surfrider Foundation and participated in coastal restoration and regeneration projects. This is when they met Greg Howell who started a waste sorting initiative at festivals. Simon and Jeroen helped him out during a few successful trials (Wanderlust, Big Pineapple festival a.o.) and got inspired. Now, don’t get too romanticized by this Australia story. We were literally digging dirt. Turning bin bags upside down onto a big tarp and trying to recover as many recyclable items as possible, piece by piece, all with our hands. This really shaped our hands-on mentality and made us realize what an humbling experience handling waste can be.
(Spring 2018)
When Simon got back to the Netherlands he met Toon, who was writing his thesis about sustainability in the event industry, at a Dutch festival. They noticed that the waste system of most events could easily be improved and directed towards a zero waste approach. And, of course, Toon couldn’t wait to dig through some trash as well after hearing the Australia stories.
They decided to first test this zero waste approach in the form of a pilot in 2018 at Surfana Festival (where they all had been working as surf instructors previously). It was Jeroen’s first weekend back in the Netherlands after three years of traveling and he was able to jump in and help out at the last minute; Divine timing. The results were great; With the help of a great team of volunteers, they managed to minimize the amount of residual waste back to only 50KG after three festival days.
We learned 4 important things:
Support from all partners and organizations involved is necessary for a successful zero waste strategy
The implementation of a zero waste strategy inevitably requires support during the execution which basically means getting your hands dirty.
We love to work with volunteers and provide people the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of sustainable event practices.
We can make waste FUN!
(October 2018)
After that, things gained momentum.
We got selected to participate in the Booking Cares Lab start-up competition, organized by Booking.com and the municipality of Amsterdam. During a three day program, experts from booking.com and the municipality of Amsterdam challenged us to transform the raw workway of our zero waste pilot into a polished business idea. The program concluded with a 4-minute opportunity to pitch our business idea to a panel of judges from Booking and the municipality. And guess what?! They liked our style. We were granted €18.500 EUR to kick-start our business. A week later SEAVENTS was officially born and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
2019 was the first year we officially started offering our services to festivals. With the guidance of LabVlieland (Into The Great Wide Open) and the help of our beloved composting machine we started with creating circular food courts. Over the years our service has evolved into a A to Z work method where SEAVENTS functions as an analysing, advising and implementing partner for responsible (event) practices with an expertise in (event) waste.
SEAVENTS is a combination of Brain and Muscles. We help you to create a strategy and we help you with securing the implementation and execution of that strategy.
